Founded in 1987, SWREG Inc is now part of the Digital River family of companies, attributed to their MyCommerce, Inc. brand and is headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Originally part of Compuserve, SWREG was purchased by Baron Stephen Lee of Coolock’s Atlantic Coast PLC in England who employed Cyrus Maaghul (who had previously owned Digibuy) as managing director in order to grow and sell the business eventually to Digital River. Stephen Lee then left the company after a short transition period. Digital River’s SWREG acquisition was announced on 18 May 2005.
